6 cylinder overhead valve engine, of capacity 3013cc. Coil ignition, Single carburettor. 4 speed pre-selector gearbox and traffic clutch. 9 ft 6 ins chassis with James Young four seater aluminium Sports Saloon body. Top speed 90 mph. Model History The 105 engine and chassis was in production from 1931 to 1936 and during that time was clothed in a variety of bodies from very successful rally and racing cars, sports cars, luxury saloons and tourers. CGP 125 - 1935 I have owned this car for 3½ years but the bodywork restoration was undertaken about 8 years ago by the previous owner, the late Michael Pierce of Sussex. Cars were often sold in chassis form allowing the new owner to choose the type of body he would like and also which coachbuilder to patronise. This James Young body is believed to be the only one extant of its type. Built in aluminium, the total weight of the car of 1½ tons is surprisingly light for a four seater saloon. It’s a comfortable yet quite quick motor car and with all windows, including the backward sliding rear quarters and sunshine roof open it feels like an open car.
