It was a development of the Talbot 75 and was raced extensively – the crowning glory was finishing 3rd and 4th at Le Mans in 1930 behind 2 Bentleys of 6.5 litres. 702 UYF Built from a "pile of bits" by the owner over a period of four and a half years and completed in 2014, it is a fairly accurate replica of the team cars (known as PL cars after their registration numbers of PL 2, PL 3 and PL 4) Mechanically, everything was reconditioned using original Talbot parts. I made the body myself – an ash frame covered with wadding, calico and then leathercloth. The wings, petrol tank, bonnet, front valence and boot lid were all made copying a friend's car, the petrol tank from lead coated steel and the rest from aluminium. I made the aluminium shells for the seats which were then covered in black leather by a Talbot Owners' Club member.
