6 cylinder overhead valve engine. 75mm x 112mm. 2969cc Coil ignition. Single carburettor. 4 speed pre-select gearbox with Darracq ‘6 light’ bodywork. Top speed 85 mph. Fuel consumption – gulp…. Model History The 75 was the mainstay of the Talbot range based on a theme which included the 65, 75, 95 and sporty 105 models. AXF882 Started life as a long wheel base 75 fitted with the most luxurious standard body offered by the Talbot company at that time. This offered generous accommodation for the passengers with a huge amount of space in the back, picnic tables, foot rests, magazine nets, and even additional cushions. At some point in its life this car received a 95 engine, giving it more power. The bodywork fitted to the long wheel base 75 was almost identical to the 95, thereby raising the spec of this car to its more powerful brethren. AHX860 was found by the current owner in 1973 about 1 mile from his home when he was walking his dog along the local disused canal. It was ‘dumped’ at the bottom of a garden with shrubs growing through it. Being only 15 at the time he persuaded his father to purchase the car. A protracted restoration has taken place since then including major bodywork, full engine and gearbox overhaul, re-wiring, reupholstering, re-chroming and up-rating the back axle to give a higher cruising speed.
