Sales blurb 2020
In silver over dark red with dark red leather interior

This gorgeous AV105 started life as Talbot 65 with a Carlton DHC body and was upgraded to a 95 engine in the 1950's. In the nineteen ninties it had a fully documented restoration to create an exact replica of the Alpine team winning car with the engine upgraded to 105 specification, and triple SU carburettors and a Blydenstein cylinder head were added which give very strong performance. The work was carried out by Talbot specialist Bill Barrott with input from Ian Polson and Arthur Archer.

In 2001 the Talbot went to a retired Rolls Royce engineer who totally rebuilt the 3.0 litre engine during the mid 2000s and this work is documented in dozens of photographs. He was meticulous. The holes in the crank shaft journals were bell-mouthed, Rolls Royce Merlin fashion, to increase oil flow and a full flow oil filter was fitted. There are notes and pictures of everything.

The pre-selector gearbox was reconditioned by Cecil Schumacher.

A new hood and frame went on to the 105 a few years ago, there are spotlights on the front, the full tonneau fits very nicely and new Blockley tyres are fitted.

The Talbot is a beautiful car and drives superbly.
