Straight six overhead valve. 75mm X 112mm = 2,969cc. Coil ignition and single downdraught Zenith 48VI-2 Carburettor. Four speed pre selector gear box. 9’ 6” chassis with Brooklands Super Speed Model body. Top Speed 90mph. Approaching 20mpg. Price when new £875. Model History The Talbot AV 105 was introduced in 1931 as a development of the earlier 90 model. AV 105s competed with great success at Brooklands, Le Mans, and many other European circuits as well as events such as the Alpine Trials and Mille Miglia. The Brooklands Super Speed Model body style was introduced at the 1931 motor show and advertised as being similar to the 90 model. Whilst 105s were hugely desirable, many purchasers preferred the Alpine style body used on the 1931 Talbot Racing Team cars and very few of the Brooklands bodies were sold.
ALL 71 When acquired in 2006 much needed to be done including a new body and engine under the supervision of marque specialist Ian Polson. Only one Talbot 105 was known to have survived with its original Brooklands Super Speed Model body and a trip to South Africa was arranged to take numerous measurements and photographs to ensure an accurate recreation for ALL 71. The colour is matched to the original identified on a 1932 Talbot Team car. The 1931 Talbot Racing Team Cars ran that year with many aluminium parts including engines and ALL 71’s engine contains aluminium castings for head, block and crank case to the exact 1931 specification. ALL 71 is now used for many leisure and club events including the 2016 Flying Scotsman Endurance Rally, circuits on the Montlhery banked track in Paris in 2015 and has campaigned in rallies across the Pyrenees and the Alps where Talbots performed so well in the 1930s.
