Model History
The Talbot BA model range was the talk of the 1934 London Motor Show. They were the final offering of engineering genius Georges Roesch. The BA 75 was given a very pretty saloon body which has more headroom than the Airline fitted to 105 and 110, and took full advantage of the dropped chassis. 142 of these cars were made, the last one being completed in July 1935. Mike Couper the well-known pre-war Talbot driver entered one of these cars in the 1935 RAC Rally.
MJ 8243
This car was completed on the 9th Feb 1935 and the first owner was Dr Hugh Woods of Luton. By the 1950’s it was living in South London and purchased in 1960 by the current owner’s father for £50. He sold it to his brother in 1963, who unfortunately left it to rot in his garden for 10 years. It was rescued in 1973 by the current owner who embarked on a full restoration. For a while it was used with a temporary body until the correct body was rebuilt. The current colour scheme reflects one of the standard factory ones, although the precise shades of the two greens not known. Since 1979 it and has been used for commuting to work, for family holidays towing a camping trailer and for Vintage Sports Car Club Navigation Rallies by the owner and his daughter. All told the current owner has covered over 100,000 miles in this car.
