6 cylinder overhead valve engine, 2969 cc, 75mm x 112mm, coil ignition, Zenith carburettor. 4 speed manual gearbox. 9ft 6ins wheelbase, semi-elliptic front and cantilever rear springs. Speed model 4 seater, Coupe des Alps coachwork by Vanden Plas. Model History A team of three 105 Talbots was entered for the 1932 Alpine Trial. They achieved what was then a unique feat of winning the trial without the loss of a single point. AEA335 is one of five Talbot 105’s built with Vanden Plas Coupe des Alpes bodies to celebrate the Alpine Trial success of July 1932. Despite the name given to this body style, the design is significantly different from the team cars, having deeper cutaways on the doors and separate wings and running boards of an attractive, rather art deco appearance. AEA 335 This particular car went to the main dealer Warwick Wright, and was used by them as their demonstrator. It was the final 105 fitted with a manual gearbox as standard, the next chassis having the first pre-selector box. Originally it was painted in mid blue, but the first owner asked the dealer to respray it in ivory. This explains the unusual combination of ivory coachwork with blue upholstery. The car has had only four owners from new, and has never been fully rebuilt. Work has been carried out over the years by the Talbot specialists as and when needed. The car regularly participates in car club events and European tours.
