Model History Designed in 1926 and first displayed at the 1926 Motor Show, the first series of the 14/45 was known as the AD. There were features of the 14/45 that could be called novel; coil ignition, 12 volt electrics, dynamotors, fabroil timing gear wheels, four wheel brakes and four speed gearboxes were all very much part of the engineering climate of the day. The verdict of the general public left no room for doubt that Georges Roesch had succeeded in building a motor car of great attraction to the family motorist of moderate means. YB 9614 This is an early example of the AD 14/45 first licenced on 9th May 1927 in Gloucestershire. It was purchased from a farmyard in Bridgewater by the Harrison family of Herefordshire in 1938 and used as a family car for general travel and holidays towing a caravan until it was laid up in 1956 at the time of the Suez crisis. David Whittle, acquired the vehicle in April 2009. Together with colleague and engineer, Ken Potts, a full restoration and engine rebuild was undertaken. The body was in extremely good condition with only one panel needing replacing. The car was resprayed to the original colour scheme. All leatherwork, instrumentation and electrical fitments were retained. The restoration was completed in April 2011. It subsewuently covered around 1000 miles before stripping the teeth from the Fibroil intermediate gear driving the camshaft from the flywheel on the journey to Bucks from auction in Leominster. Following a further engine rebuild by its new owner Gordon Matthews it is back on the road. Since April 2021 it hasbeen driven regularly participating in the Dorset Dawdle in May 2021, Kop hillclimb Sept 2021, varioud VSCC meeting Talbot AGM 2021 and 2022 and Tour of Mendips 2023. In August 2021 it completed 2 hillclimbs at Prescott and was awarded the Schade Tropy at the Bugatti Owners Club Garden party meeting.
